Mission and Purpose of Master of Law Study Program

Faculty of Law University of Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta (FH-UMY) is a legal education institution that was established and developed with Islamic characteristics. The Islamic characteristic that is reflected in the vision of Faculty of Law UMY is “To create a sharia-based higher education law”. The purpose of the expression of higher education sharia-law is a superior legal education and oriented to the value of nationality and Islamicity both in terms of process and output. in other words one of the specifications and excellence expected from the educational process in Faculty of Law UMY is the development of educational paradigm which is expected to be born undergraduate and master of law with Islamic, intellectual and humanistic typology as the embodiment of the three pillars to be achieved through the process of education that is professional, intelectuality and humanity.

Benefit at Master of Law Study Program

When the Faculty of Law UMY approximately 32 years, Faculty of Law UMY only open one study program at graduate program (S1). The opening discourse of Master Program has been in existence since 2010 through Faculty of Law UMY working meeting forum which took place on July 28, 2012 which then concreted become one of work program of Faculty of Law UMY academic year 2012/2013.

The opening of Master of Law UMY is believed to provide many benefits, both internally and externally. internally, the existence of the master program serves as a vehicle for faculty members at the Faculty of Law UMY to actualize and develop their knowledge. The existence of the Master Program can help facilitate the alumni of graduate program (S1) to continue their study at Master Program (S2).
